- an accredited training program at AQF/ASF level 5, for people
wishing to pursue a career path in the maritime industry

- curriculum reflecting STCW95 competencies

- the candidate with training and skill development to take
responsibility for safe control of an ocean-going vessel, and
further their maritime career

- a raised level of professionalism of Australian seafaring personnel

- knowledge of rules, regulations and other codes governing the work
on board an ocean-going vessel.
