Description

This course is designed to provide students with the skills, knowledge and competencies to access a variety of roles in the Mining Industry either directly or through further formal training and in response to industry recruitment requirements.

The course is designed as an entry level training program providing generic skills across diverse areas within the mining industry.

It is specifically designed for Indigenous students to provide a strong support structure in the literacy component of the course so that the students have the necessary resources available to successfully complete the course.

To provide a flexible program of study that will increase the student's literacy skills relevant to the mining industry.

1. CORE

It is intended that students successfully complete all modules. Modules can be selected from the National Module Bank (subject to availability of training provider resources) as substitues for the listed modules. It is recommended that students complete a minimum of 250 hrs of on the job training in mining or related industry area.
