To provide theoretical and practical training in all
aspects of veterinary nursing to enable the nurse to
assist veterinarians in all aspects of their work.

To enable students to gain certification acceptable
to the Veterinary Surgeon's Board of Western
Australia.

To allow registration as a Veterinary Nurse.

1 Two compulsory five-day practical workshops will be conducted at the
Bentley Campus to cover the practical aspects of the following subjects:

- Operating Theatre Techniques
- Animal Anaesthesia
- Anatomy and Physiology
- Clinical Pathology Techniques
- Radiographic Techniques.

2 Subjects 47341 Veterinary Nursing Practice 1A, 47349 Veterinary
Nursing Practice 1B, 47354 Veterinary Nursing Practice 2A and 47357 Veterinary
Nursing Practice 2B are completed in the workplace under the supervision of
employers. Therefore, there is no study load attached to these components.

3 Completion of a 2-day workshop in Work and Personal Effectiveness at
Bentley Campus is highly desirable although not compulsory.
