Description

This course enables people with dyslexia to:

- Understand and manage their dyslexia
- Use a range of strategies and resources to support their learning
- Gain confidence when faced with fundamental literacy and numeracy tasks
- Develop keyboard and organisational skills
- Develop job seeking and work skills

Schedule
Learners are to complete four (4) core units listed below and two (2) elective units of choice from a Certificate I Training Package or accredited course of the same level

2. This course has been accredited by the Training Accreditation Council (TAC) in Western Australia. It has been placed on the National Register as code 52270.

3. 3. Further information on this program may be obtained from the Director, Learning Portfolio Support, Central Institute of Technology, 25 Aberdeen St, Northbridge, tel: 1300 300 822.

4. The four dyslexia specifically designed units are to be delivered by a specialist in dyslexia, approved by AusSpeld or their relevant State bodies. The imported units are to be delivered by staff who have completed, as a minimum, a three day in-service course run by AusSpeld or by their State bodies (Dyslexia Speld WA).
