Description

The Diploma of Marine Studies course is a knowledge and practical based course covering broad themes of marine studies and seamanship skills. The course has been developed in consultation with industry and enables students to gain a broad based knowledge of the maritime industry.

It provides pathways into industry, maritime management agencies and tertiary institutions specialising in Marine Science and/or Aquaculture.

The qualification is completed as a dual qualification with MAR20313 Certificate II in Maritime Operations (Coxswain Grade 1 Near Coastal), which enhances the employability skills of the graduates and provides them with the opportunity to apply for a nationally recognised commercial ticket (Coxswain Grade 1 Near Coastal (NC)) once they have completed the additional Australian Maritime Safety Authority requirements.
