General Notes
This module has been effective in providing a subject based elective program to complement the CGEA. It also provides the background knowledge and skills for students wishing to continue their studies in the Certificate IV Academic Preparation Studies, WACE courses and to further studies externally.

Each short course is available as an elective in the Certificate III in General Education for Adults. Each short course has a duration of 70 hours and would normally be delivered over one semester. It is expected that full-time students will study two short courses, in conjunction with core CGEA modules, to comply with the range of hours (270-390) of Core Skills and Special Interest Electives in the Certificate III in General Education for Adults. The short courses could be used as electives in other general education and access courses in a similar way.

These short courses lead to a Statement of Attainment only. No qualification will be granted separately for attainment of these short courses; they will contribute towards the achievement of the Certificate III in General Education for Adults.
