Description

The Course has been developed as part of a suite of access and transition programs designed to assist learners to articulate into vocational pathways and to develop the skills and abilities to direct their own progress. The course provides generic and transferable entry level outcomes that support the individual pathway choices of a diverse range of learners, including:
- Learners who are not work ready;
- Learners who may experience difficulties completing Certificate I courses [including Certificate I in GATE];
- Learners whose progress is challenged and/or constrained by multiple barriers and risk factors.
While GATE (Introductory) may be customised for a wide range of learners, it may not be suited to the needs of learner cohorts with very high support needs, such as learners with an intellectual disability or with mental health issues.
