Description

This course will provide skills and knowledge in numeracy for students at
competency level 1 on the Australian Standards Framework. The course is
divided into two modules: Numeracy CML Level 1 and Numeracy CML level 2. These
are designed to match the Assisted and Independent phases of the proposed
National Framework for Adult Numeracy.

The Computer Managed Learning (CML) aspect of the course will be that a
computer will provide printed tests for each of the Learning Outcomes. The CML
system will also carry out the test marking and record keeping.

Recognition of prior learning will be achieved from the results of an initial
CML generated test. Full credit will then be given for all learning outcomes
achieved.

General Notes
Because of recognition of prior learning, students will have different entry
points to the course. Consequently, not all students will need to study the
whole course.

The computer-managed learning aspect of this course requires a minimum of an
IBM AT compatible (INTEL 80286 base processor) computer with VGA monitor and
connected to a dot matrix, ink jet or laser printer. The computer will then
operate the CML system and provide access to the test banks.
