Description
To provide an Electrical/Instrument Tradesperson or
Technician with a broadly based introduction to
Programmable Control systems and basic programming
skills.

To expose the student to a number of programming languages through a 'hands-on'
approach on up to four different PC systems.

To show practical applications of PCs.

A pass is required in each.

Practical Assessment

This will be done on a continuous basis through
tests administered by the lecturer. Problems
contained in "Assessment Module A" will form the
basis of these tests. The practical component is to
account for 50% of the total mark.

Theory Assessment

The student will sit for a two-hour written
examination at the completion of the course. The
theoretical examination will account for 50% of the
total mark.
