Description
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to identify and recognise one’s own personal skills and capabilities that could be transferred to other situations or settings.
It requires the ability to gather information about interests and activities and to identify the skills and knowledge gained through participation in paid/non-paid work, individual, group and community activities and pathways that could contribute to personal, career and further learning aspirations.
The unit applies to vulnerable young people who need assistance in recognising that the skills and capabilities they already gained through interests and activities are transferrable to other situations or settings. Recognising these skills assists them to build the sense of self-worth and personal vision needed to achieve independence and social inclusion, and ultimately, enabling engagement with education, training and employment.
No occupational licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
