To provide learners with the opportunity to develop basic skills in the
implementation of systematic and creative techniques in solving simple design
problems and the ability to distinguish, analyse and categorise the factors
affecting them.

To provide a studio-based core subject which facilitates the integration of all

Evidence Guide
Learners will be required to demonstrate achievement of the learning outcome by
progressive assessment of individual drawings submitted at the completion of
each major topic.
In addition, learners are required to submit at the completion of the subject a
major project folio consisting of design drawings for a given design topic.
Topics will vary according to delivery methods and regional emphasis.
-Access to a well lit design studio equipped with adjustable drawing boards,
parallel lines, ergonomically designed furniture, pin-up boards and projection
surfaces for an audio-visual presentation
-The environmental quality of the studio must conform with the relevant and
appropriate Australian Standards on Occupational Health and Safety requirements.
