This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to perform in Indigenous works by major Indigenous writers.

It requires the ability to prepare, rehearse and perform scenes from Indigenous works, with varying theoretical and practical applications preparing the learner for future contemporary Indigenous performance and audition work.

The candidate is expected to increase expertise and knowledge over time with considerable skills acquired via the practice of technical exercises accompanied with extensive rehearsal time.

The unit applies to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander actors in the performing arts industry.
