Description
This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required for work in an automated work environment. The unit of competency applies to workers and prospective workers whose future may be within an automated workplace.
The unit examines what an automated workplace is, how it has evolved, how it is controlled, where it can be applied, and what processes and procedures ensure it functions safely, efficiently and effectively. It emphasises the roles within an automated workplace, the communications skills needed and the importance of the human-machine-interface. The unit equips workers with the knowledge and skills to work alongside automated equipment.
