To assist the Automotive or Allied
tradesperson to gain an understanding
of the fundamental concepts associated
with power hydraulics, the componentry
used in hydraulic systems, the relevant
circuits and circuit diagrams, and the
fundamentals of testing and diagnosis
of these systems.

Theory
Written examination of two hours' duration. Questions are to be based on the
objectives contained in this syllabus. 80%
Assignment
The assignments are to be set to cover or enhance areas of importance that may
not be examined. Where a topic is of significance to the subject material, it
should be covered by an assignment or other suitable enhancement method. If
more than one assignment is set, the marks are to be
averaged. 20%
