Description
This is an introductory accounting unit providing students with essential underpinning knowledge and skills in financial accounting. The unit gives students an overview of accounting from a non-accountants perspective but also provides a fundamental base for those who wish to pursue a career in accounting. It covers recording business transactions in journals and ledgers and preparing end-of-period financial reports such as the statement of financial performance and statement of financial position. The unit provides the student with the skills and knowledge to interpret and analyse financial statements using ratio and trend analysis.
