Description
To provide learners with:
Module 4/2: Roof Flashings and Penetrations
- An ability to identify and select flashing materials suitable for
residential buildings.
- An ability to correctly fabricate flashings needed to weatherproof
(and vermin proof) penetrations in residential roofs.
- A detailed knowledge of regulations, standards and associated codes of
practice applicable to roof flashings and penetrations (including AS 1562:
Design and Installation of Metal Roofing)
- A detailed knowledge of the fabrication and installation requirements
for flashings and vermin proofing in residential buildings and a practical
understanding of installation methods and techniques.
- A comprehensive revision of the requirements for safe work on roofs.
- A demonstrated ability to correctly and safely fabricate flashings;
install, weather proof and vermin proof roof penetrations on actual/simulated
residential building roofs.
- A comprehensive revision of protective clothing/equipment requirements
applicable to installation of roof penetrations and associated flashings.
