This subject aims to:

- provide a sound foundation in Construction, Operation and
Maintenance of Control Equipment appropriate to operational applications.

- provide the appropriate educational requirements for the
subject area, specified in the Uniform Shipping Laws Code, to the rank of
Engineer Watchkeeper.

- prepare the Engineer for the subject Operational Control

covering topics such as: Control Actions,
Controllers, Actuators and Regulators,

Principles and Terms, Interpretation of Diagrams and
Manuals, Control Actions, Controllers, Sensors and
Monitoring, Operation and Testing of Alarm Panels
and Control Systems in Diesel, Steam and Unmanned
Machinery Spaces.
