Description
To provide Mohair growers with both theoretical
knowledge and practical skills required for
registration as Owner Classers with the Angora
Mohair Breeders of Australasia (AMBA).

The students must demonstrate their ability to:
- prepare fleeces correctly to the standard required by the
Mohair industry
- identify and classify correctly 12 fleeces from 15
selected Mohair fleeces
- group together to industry standards similar fleece types
from 15 selected fleeces (which must include not less than 6 duplicated mohair
fleece types)
- complete a Mohair classer's specification sheet
- measure mohair fibre using objective measurements.
Successful students will be awarded a statement of
completion by the college specifying the
competencies achieved and will then be eligible to
apply for registration as an owner-classer with the
Angora Mohair Breeders of Australasia Limited
(AMBA).
