To develop a broad understanding of the different
schools of clinical psychology for referral
purposes.
To provide a working knowledge of the general principles of applied psychology
in relation to welfare practice.
To identify the personal, social and cognitive
stages of development from conception to middle
childhood, and define the issues that arise at each
stage, with respect to the family and the community.

based upon general psychological concepts (e.g.
perception, emotion, motivation).
Class Tutorial 20%
Students will present a class tutorial in regard to
a current health issue.
Tutorial Summary Handout 10%
Students will present a tutorial summary paper of
500 words, and a list of relevant resource agencies.

One two-hour examination. Students must answer four from six essay questions.
