To provide students with further field experience.
Students should at the end of the unit have
integrated theoretical components of welfare
practice units into practice fieldwork experience.

Specifically, students should have a thorough
grounding in services provided in the community by
the Commonwealth Government.

To identify fields of welfare practice and to list
community resources which constitute the fields of
practice (eg. Aboriginal, aged, health care field).

To understand the legislative basis of resources,
shall be able to differentiate skills required for
the setting up of innovative programs.

To explain the nature of evaluation of community
resources and familiar themselves with evaluation
processes operating within the welfare agency in
which the student is placed.

To identify and use referral procedures of agencies.

To detect issues relating to management functions
and organisational climate, as they affect the
organisation of community resources.
