To develop practical dance skills in the performance
of either Torres Strait Islands (TSI) dances or
South-West dances.

To extend understanding of the significance of body
paint, traditional costume and decoration.

To encourage pride in the adornment of traditional
paint and costume.

To instil the total commitment of body and mind that
is involved in the performance of traditional dance.

To enable students to develop mimetic skills for
stylised representations of animal movement or human
action.
