Description
This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to use diverse networking protocols and scripting language programming skills to find and exploit weaknesses in the organisational security of web applications and infrastructure. It involves developing and implementing programs and scripts that can perform offensive cyber security actions to meet identified web applications or infrastructure needs.
The unit applies to those working as offensive cyber security professionals, either within their own organisation or as independent cyber security researchers. As members of red, blue, or purple teams, they apply specialised protocols and diverse penetration testing methods to find and report vulnerabilities to organisations in various fields and industry sectors, with the aim of strengthening organisational infrastructure defences.
No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
