To allow the student to gain knowledge, and
techniques, in the appropriate construction methods
of the following bonds: Flemish, English, and
Flemish Garden Wall, Dutch and English Cross.
To describe the functions, and bonding rules,
applicable to attached and isolated piers relevant
to the above bonds, including Stretcher and English.
To allow the student to increase knowledge, gained
earlier in this subject, by providing further
information and techniques, involved in concrete
masonry construction.
To introduce basic scaffolding, plant and machinery
used, by the bricklayer.
To enable the student to identify the standards
required, when designing and constructing free-
standing walls, and the techniques necessary, for
the construction of gables and copings.
