To enable the Automotive or Allied Tradesperson to gain knowledge and
experience in the operation of two selected automatic transmission, as fitted
to rear-wheel drive vehicles.

A pass in BOTH components is required.
Theory
A two-hour 'open-book' examination will be conducted at the end of the
subject. Students will be expected to utilise a set of subject notes compiled
by them during
the semester, to demonstrate their understanding of the transmission
studied. 80%
Assignment
The assignments are to be set to cover or enhance
areas of importance that may not be examined. Where
a topic is of significance to the subject material,
it should be covered by an assignment or other
suitable enhancement method. If more than one
assignment is set, the marks are to be averaged. 20%
