Description
To provide learners with the practical and theoretical skills necessary to
identify, establish and maintain lawns, grasses and grass substitute
groundcovers, and to operate the relevant turf machinery and equipment.

Range of Variables
It is desirable that this module be offered in the second half of the year so
that learners may cover the theory initially in the cooler months in time to
begin developing their skills as the lawn plants start growing vigorously in
the spring.
This module will be delivered in a classroom/workshop/turf field area on the
campus, in a suitable workplace and/or on excursions to suitable locations with
lawns, the appropriate machinery, hand tools, propagation materials and
fertilisers for the learners.
Learners will need resource material such as videos, written material and
living or pressed specimens.
Learners who have completed 46215 Fieldwork - Lawn and Turf will have the
competency Mow Turf.
It would be an advantage for the learners to have done, or be doing, 46009
Watering Equipment and Practices.
To allow credible competency-based training and assessment the class size MUST (C
