Description
This unit describes the basic speaking and listening performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required by adult learners of English as an additional language with little or no formal education to communicate basic personal information and needs. It focuses on participating in basic conversations and responding to basic requests for personal information.
The outcomes described in this unit relate to:
- The ISLPR (International Second Language Proficiency Ratings) descriptors for Speaking and Listening. They partly contribute to the achievement of Speaking 1 and Listening 1
and
- the Australian Core Skill Framework (ACSF). They contribute to the achievement of ACSF indicators of competence in Oral Communication at Pre Level 1.
