To expose students to specialised business software
packages used in industry and the profession for:

- the improvement of cost and financial control of a
business enterprise.

- the computerised preparation of taxation returns and
associated schedules, tax return lodgement control and fee management.

- the preparation of financial statements in accordance with
legislative requirements,

- Major database management applications.

- Selected high level business software application.

Internal Assessment 100%

Continuous assessment by lecturer in microcomputer
laboratory. Internal assessment component should consist of test of
mastery of the various computer applications and packages used.

Students must demonstrate mastery of the syllabus
objectives in at least three of the five modules.
Selection of the modules to be covered will be by
class consensus after discussion with the class
lecturer.

Progress through the syllabus is dependent on mastery of software packages.

Copies of assignments set and students computer
output should be retained by the class lecturer for
moderation by the subject co-ordinator if required.
