Description
The purpose of this module is to develop participants’ knowledge of the issues that effect women’s participation in the workforce and to translate that knowledge into strategies for dealing with such issues in their roles as union organisers. The module also examines the various state and federal laws that govern EEO and discrimination in the workplace. This focus is then expanded through an examination of the issues of work and family responsibilities. The concerns of people from different ethnic backgrounds and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders are considered and strategies for organising people from these groups are developed.
