Description
To provide students with a background in elementary
statistics.

To develop the students' abilities to collect,
organise and summarise statistical data.

To introduce students to the principles of
probability theory.

To pass in this subject, students must gain at least
40% in both the internal assessment and examination
component, as well as an aggregate mark of at least
50%.

Marks CANNOT be carried over to subsequent
semesters, except in the case of a deferred
examination.

Internal Assessment

A 800-1,000 word essay on a topic dealing
with the use and abuse of statistics 20 marks

A one-hour class test on Topics 1-5 15 marks

A one-hour class test on Topics 6-10 15 marks
