To provide students with practical experience of the
evolution of traditional music, song and dance, from
an Aboriginal perspective.
To further develop practical understanding of
traditional Aboriginal instruments, focusing on
technical skills in musicianship with two
traditional Aboriginal instruments: the didgeridoo
and one other.
To allow students the opportunity to construct
Aboriginal instruments in the traditional manner.
To enable students to recognise the influence of
Aboriginal traditional music on Australian
contemporary music.
To encourage students to develop pride and
conviction in their commitment to the study of
traditional instruments.
