Description
To introduce learners to the reasons for different methods of irrigation in
various environments in a domestic garden.
Range of Variables
Delivery to take place in a classroom/workshop or a suitable workplace and on
excursions to provide:

- access to various growing media

- access to plants having symptoms of water stress

- ready access to a variety of domestic gardens.

To allow credible competency-based training and assessment the class size MUST
NOT exceed fifteen learners.

This subject is to be assessed internally using competence as a measure of
learner achievement.

The learner is required to demonstrate competency in each of the learning
outcomes in line with the assessment method shown.

Assessment will be based on an appropriate selection of the following methods:

- short oral explanations of procedures
- longer written and/or oral tests and/or
- practical demonstration of the skills required in the relevant
assessment in the final module.
