Description
To provide learners with:
Module 2: Introduction to Occupational Health and Safety
- A basic knowledge of legal and site requirements for Occupational
Health and Safety.
- A knowledge of safe work practices.
- An ability to use correct protective clothing and equipment at all
times.
- An ability to recognise hazards and identify necessary and appropriate
precautions.
- A basic knowledge of current site emergency and first aid procedures.
Module 6: Workplace Occupational Health and Safety
- A comprehensive knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety
requirements applicable to Building and Construction.
- A demonstrated ability to apply correct Occupational Health and Safety
methods and procedures relevant to Building and Construction.
- A demonstrable knowledge of safe work practices, workplace hazards and
the precautions which must be taken to reduce or eliminate workplace hazards.
- A detailed knowledge of protective clothing and equipment required in
the Building and Construction Industry.
- A practical understanding of industry, site and individual safety
responsibilities.
- A comprehensive knowledge of the Occupational Health, Safety and
Welfare Act (1984) of WA and Regulations and of Occupational health and Safety
legislation applicable to all areas of Building and Construction.
- A comprehensive knowledge of current fire fighting equipment and
methods; and current workplace emergency and first aid procedures.
