Description
To provide students with sufficient exposure to
recorded film and video material, to develop an
awareness of the development of dance in the West,
from Isadora Duncan to Alvin Ayley.
To enable students to identify the major pioneers of
modern dance.
To enable students to visually recognise and
discuss, major works created by the artists studied,
with reference to style, technique and artistic
vision.
To encourage students to relate cultural developments to socio-ideological
climate at a particular point in history.
