Description
To enable the Automotive or Allied tradesperson to gain
knowledge and experience in the diagnostic and overhaul
procedures for two selected rear-wheel drive automatic
transmissions.

A pass in BOTH components is required.

Theory

A two-hour "open-book" examination will be conducted at
the end of the subject. Students will be expected to
utilise subject notes compiled during their study of
Automatic Transmission A and B to demonstrate their
understanding of the transmissions studied. 50%

Assignment

The assignments are to be set to cover or enhance areas
of importance that may not be examined. Where a topic
is of significance to the subject material, it should
be covered by an assignment or other suitable enhancement method. If more than
one assignment is set, the marks are to be averaged. 30%

Practical

Practical projects are to complement the theoretical
concepts. The practical assessment is to be based on
averaging all the practical projects that are set, to
reinforce the theory component. 20%
