Description
This unit will provide an introduction to ecological principles and their relevance to environmental science and/or management. For example, degraded areas typically have lower biodiversity, short food chains and simple food webs. This knowledge/assessment will often provide the starting point for determining the cause(s) of environmental issues and their subsequent restoration. It should be noted that this competency is not designed to provide specialist, in-depth ecological knowledge and skills.
