understanding of the role of the
playleader and the philosophy of
playleading.
To introduce the student to the basics of play programming.
To begin to learn to work in a team.

- assignment on programming, including the planning of an
activity, to be carried out in a group of two or three
students 30%
- Begin a Playleading Resource File on play
activities 30%
Practical Assessment 40%
- Student's teamwork score (assessed by peers) from the
group activity assignment and presentation 10%
- Group activity presentations, one spontaneous and one
pre-planned 30%
Guidelines for assessment of activity presentation:
- adequate preparation and planning
- style of presentation
- adequate warm-up and closure
- attention to safety
- provision for all individuals
- level of playfulness/spontaneity achieved
