Evidence Guide
Examination 30% Internal
Assessment 70%
Internal Practical Assessment 100%
Theory Module Tests - continuous
cumulative assessment of module tests. Each Module
objective theory test mark requires a 70%
pass. Each Module written test mark requires 50% pass. Final Objective Module
mark to be scaled back to 50% for Certificate of Trade Studies result.
Theory Examination - End-of-
Semester Theory Test. Above marking procedure to
apply.
Practical - continuous cumulative assessment of all practical objectives.
Student Assignments - continuous
cumulative assessment of all set assignments.
Certificate of Trade Studies - 2B
Awarded Marks
The criteria for Assessment 2B of the Day/Block
Release course, are:
Theory
Modular Tests 50% Semester
Examination 30%
Assignment 20%
The 50% theory criteria will be met, by averaging
the marks achieved in all theory tests, laid down in
the TE78, for each subject module listed, in the
schedule of subjects. A pass is required.
The Semester Test of 30% will be achieved, by the
student, completing a combined test of all modules
learnt in this semester of training. A pass of 50%
written, 70% objective is required.
The 20% assignment criterion will be met, by
cumulative continuous assessment, of the student's
nominated assignments and file. Assessment will be
on the basis of presentation, technical content,
grammar and spelling. A pass is required.
Practical
A satisfactory mark in the practical skills area.
A satisfactory mark in the practical area will be
met, by the student, achieving a pass, by continuous
cumulative assessment, in the nominated practical
projects.
Privileged Re-Examination
A privileged re-examination may be offered by the
Superintendent of the study area, acting on advice
from the relevant Board of Review.
In general, it is recommended that only one re-test
for a given module, be offered within the course
attendance period (where time permits). Any
subsequent re-testing in tutorial periods, will be
at the discretion of the college.
