To enable students to work within teams to:
- undertake data-gathering exercises, including inventory
analysis of current ecological conditions.
- concisely describe landscape elements graphically, and in writing.
- identify and document conservation values.
- prepare "suitability" maps for particular natural areas.
- determine appropriate land-uses, and formulate management
recommendations.
- gain practice in air-photo interpretation, developing
"sieve-system" land information systems, and other graphic representations of
natural area landscapes.
