Description
This unit takes the existing theoretical knowledge and practical skills of the commercial pilot and expands and develops them to an advanced level to enable the pilot to confidently, accurately and safely apply the knowledge and skills in a training situation.
An Initial Grade 3 Flight Instructor prepares a new student pilot in all aspects of theoretical knowledge and practical skills to the Ab-initio level under Commercial operating conditions.
Investigations explore the established legislation designed to ensure quality and consistency in training throughout Australia and enhance public safety.
Particular attention is paid to the Principles and Methods of Instruction, enhancing the theoretical knowledge and flight skills to the higher level of performance and understanding to ensure the trainee Instructor has a solid professional base.
The increased workload and individual human traits associated with instructing are investigated and options are explored to develop response strategies.
Licensing, legislative, regulatory and certification requirements are applicable to this unit.
