Description
To provide learners with the necessary knowledge and skills to produce routine
recording photographs of a scientific and general nature.

Range of Variables
This module could be delivered partially on or fully off-the-job or by flexible
delivery.
Off-the-Job
For full-time attending learners, the module hours should be ideally sequenced
over a semester period with a minimum duration of 3 hours per session.
Learners should be prepared for an additional two hours per week to complete
reports and revision. It is anticipated that no practical tasks will be given
outside of class hours since most learners will not have access to appropriate
equipment.
Partial On-the-Job
Some practical photographic tasks (Learning Outcome 4) are suitable for partial
on-the-job delivery provided that the workplace has access to the good quality
photographic equipment (35mm SLR - Nikon or similar), good quality high Guide
Number portable electronic flash, macro lens, light balancing filters.
Workplace supervisors can act as mentors as to the setting-up and
delivery.
