Description
THEORY
To develop an appreciation of safe working practice of welding equipment.
To develop an understanding of chemical and
metallurgical effects with refrigerants.
To develop a knowledge of electric, TIG, MIG,
welders and the oxy-acetylene plant operation and
their use.
To develop an understanding of fabrication criteria
for sheet and plate metals, piping, ducts and
plastic jointing.
To develop an understanding of welding and
fabrication planning, development and detailing.
To develop understanding of construction methods of
refrigeration cabinets, coolrooms and
airconditioning ducts.
PRACTICAL
To develop a practical knowledge of the use of arc, TIG, MIG and Oxy-acetylene
welding techniques for ferrous and non-ferrous and use the equipment
proficiently.
To develop a practical knowledge and work experience
in the use of plastic type materials used in
refrigeration fabrication processes.
To develop an appreciation of hand tools required in
refrigeration fabrication processes and a knowledge
of how to use them proficiently.
