Description
To develop basic handtools skills, and a useable building vocabulary.
To provide the students with a structured range of training objectives that
accurately relate to the skills of the industry in which he/she works.
To ensure that each student attains the prescribed performance standard for
each training unit, and that those standards equate to the on-site performance
requirement.
To introduce the student to Occupational Health and Safety issues, relevant to
his/her trade.

Theory - Written test per unit
Drawing - Average percentage of nominated drawings' marks
Calculations - Written test per unit
Practical Skills - Average percentage of practical skills
exercises' marks.
* Marks shall be out of 100 expressed as a percentage.
* Each component within a unit must attain a pass mark of 50. Failure
may be redeemed by passing the individually-based component
re-examination paper, prior to commencement of the next unit.
* The passmark for a unit shall be the averaging of all components'
marks.
Privileged Re-Examination, Practical Skills
Re-Assessment
A privileged re-examination or practical skills re-
assessment may be granted on the recommendation of a Board
of Review.
