Description
To provide students with practical
skills in a range of art and craft
activities that can be adapted with
children.

To provide a stimulus to students' personal creativity and confidence in
involving themselves in such activities.

This subject has one topic that is
general and six topics dealing with
different art and craft areas.
Students are required to cover the
general topic 'Planning Art and Craft
sessions' in conjunction with four
other topics.

Assessment should be flexible.
Suggested forms of assessment are:

1 A comprehensive resource file which provides examples of activities
from the following ten areas: painting, printing, pottery, small junkcraft,
weaving, plasterwork, waxwork, traditional crafts, equipment and
materials. 40%

2 In groups of 3 plan, conduct and evaluate a half-hour activity session
for peers in a selected area of art and craft. 45%

3 Participation in library research and class activities as directed.
