Description
To enable learners to define terms concerned with the mechanical properties of
materials as they relate to problems of strength and stability of and to
determine values for these terms, using appropriate formulae and diagrams.

Range of Variables
This module contains learning outcomes that require theory instruction under
standard classroom conditions and practical instruction. The theory component
will be assessed at the end of the instructional period when learners are
required to sit for a closed book theory test.
The practical component will be assessed by appropriate laboratory reports. It
is necessary to pass individually the practical component and the theory
component to pass the module.
