Description
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required for developing and performing in screen-based performance contexts. This involves research and analysis of techniques for screen performance.

The unit applies to actors who work in screen-based performance contexts. They work with a range of techniques and materials to realise improvised and scripted content. At this level, performers are expected to use initiative and to apply theoretical concepts and skills when preparing for, and performing on screen.

Prepare for screen performance
  • 1.1 Discuss fundamental principles for screen-based acting performance with relevant personnel
  • 1.2 Develop physical and vocal warm-up and cool-down practices for screen performance
  • 1.3 Identify and apply strategies to effectively manage performance anxiety as needed
  • 1.4 Seek and respond to feedback from required personnel to evaluate preparation
Develop a range of screen acting skills
  • 2.1 Prepare a range of materials appropriate for screen-based performance
  • 2.2 Test and evaluate different screen acting techniques in workshop contexts
