Description
To teach the theoretical knowledge of the operation
of a wide range of chemical analysers, and a
foundation of sensor technology, to enable them to
quickly understand the operation of any new
analysers they may encounter.

To provide a knowledge of the reasons for the use of
each chemical analyser, coupled with an awareness of
the process parameters, so that the student may make
decisions on the correct choice of analyser to be
deployed in each process.

To give a foundation in the maintenance of chemical
analysers. This extends from the process to the final signal
generation. The student should be able to differentiate between process
(media) problems and electronic, and be able to recommend steps to rectify the
situation.
