Description
To provide training in the minor maintenance of machines or equipment used in
the laundries sector that may be performed by the operator.

Range of Variables

the module outcomes:

Evidence Guide
Assessment is the gathering of evidence of successful performance.
The assessment should focus on the learning outcome not on individual
assessment criteria. Assessment criteria are indicators of successful
performance of the learning outcome.
A holistic approach assessment is desirable, ie. a single assessment instrument
may assess more than one learning outcome. For example, a workplace project
may assess both the planning and execution of a task(s).
Examples of assessment instruments include, but are not restricted to:
- practical demonstration or tests
- observation checklists
- oral questioning
- short answer written tests
- written assignments
- projects
- portfolios
- peer assessment
- simulations
Results will be expressed as Pass (P) or Not Complete (NC).
The work is carried out under minimal supervision and relates to the
recognition and reporting of machine or equipment faults as well as minor
maintenance.
The maintenance applies to machines and equipment used by the operator.

- receiving and sorting
- washing
- drying and preparation of product for drying
- finishing
- repair
- repacking of hospital linen
- preparation for storage or despatch.
