Description

This module prepares students to deal with significant issues and risks in Web site publishing, including: copyright, intellectual property, trade practices, security, libel, slander, discrimination, objectionable material, cultural differences, contracts, etc.

Range of Variables

Learners will be required to work independently and under supervision on a series of learning activities and practice exercises. There will also be opportunities for group work.

Learners should be advised to develop a study or work plan.

Competency Based Assessment

1. A written short-answer test on definitions and correct use of terminology.

2. A project to create a small Web presentation that contains copyright protection notices and which is digitally watermarked.

3. A research project to report on current legal and moral issues in Web publishing.

4. An assignment in which a contract for Web dealings is prepared.
