Description
To provide practical knowledge and experience in
preparing for client interviews.

To identify skills necessary to deal with difficult
and unusual interview situations.

To develop practical knowledge and skills in
analysing agency practices, policy and procedures.

To enable students to explore their personal
attitudes and values toward welfare clients, and
their own motivation for choosing welfare as a
vocation.

To examine through videoed role-plays, their presentation to clients.

To demonstrate practical and theoretical knowledge
of financial advocacy.

Video Interview

Students are required to record an interview on
video, and lead group analysis of their performance.

Role-Plays

Students will be required to role-play three given situations : as a client, as
a welfare worker and as an observer. Students will be required to record and
analyse each situation.

Video Financial Advocacy Interview

Students will record an interview on video, and
analyse their own performance in a short report of
1,000-1,500 words.

The student must achieve a pass mark in all
assignments, in order to pass the subject.
