This subject aims to:
- provide advanced knowledge of thermodynamics appropriate
to operational applications.
- provide the appropriate educational requirements for the
subject area, specified in the uniform Shipping Laws Code, to the rank of First
Class Marine Engineer.

covering the areas of Gas Laws, Air Compressors,
Internal Combustion Engines, Gas Turbines,
Refrigeration and Heat Transfer.
A three-hour final examination covering Gas Laws,
Air Compressors, Internal Combustion Engines, Gas
Turbines, Refrigeration and Heat Transfer.
A pass in both assessment components is required to
achieve a pass for the subject.
